EDGE

The ‘EDGE’ rings are inspired by organic structures to represent the natural ways the important things in life tend to take no matter how intensively we try to shape them. Most times we have to walk to the edge of the world to realise, that what we needed was always right there with us.

These rings were hand-carved in wax and locally cast in recycled silver. The wax model, as well as the mould, are destroyed in the process of the silver casting, which is why the process is also called "cire perdue" or "lost form". This means there is only one version of this exact ring and there cannot be another. It is absolutely unique.

Die ‘EDGE OF THE WORLD’ Ringe sind organische Strukturen, die von dem Gedanken inspiriert sind, wie natürlich sich die wichtigen Wege unseres Lebens gestalten, egal wie sehr wir versuchen diese vorzugeben. Oft müssen wir bis ans Ende der Welt gehen - gedanklich oder körperlich - um zu verstehen, dass das, was wir brauchten, schon bei uns war.

Dir Ringe wurden in Wachs handgefertigt und anschließend lokal in recyceltem Silber gegossen. Da sowohl das Wachsmodell, als auch die Gussform im Prozess des Gusses zerstört werden, handelt es sich hierbei um eine sogenannte "verlorene Form". Dies bedeutet, dass es es jeden Ring in seiner individuellen Ausführung tatsächlich nur einmal gibt.
